Olivier Piton was elected to the Assembly of French Citizens Abroad (AFE) and has published several notable works, such as “The New American Revolution” (Plon, 2016) and “Kamala Harris. The Pioneer of America” (Plon, 2021).
What conclusions can be drawn from these American interim elections?
We could first underline that the recurring difficulties of a technical nature and a multiple and complex mode of election, unworthy of American democracy, will once again prevent a certain number of results from being known before long.
We could also recognize, despite these partial results, that the Republicans won these elections and regained, at least, the majority in the House of Representatives.
However, this is only a very banal electoral alternation since, since the Civil War, the party in opposition has always won these mid-term elections, except three times, 1934, 1998 and 2002 .
